Enabling Version Control Systems (VCS)

Executive Summary

This client is a small company that needed help making their app a much more feasible solution for users. This app has the ability to scan code and identify vulnerabilities and risk areas. If a security issue was detected in the code, a comment was left on the pull request generated for the user to see the issues that needed to be fixed.

The Business Need

Since PRs are short lived, the user lacked vital information regarding the issues needing fixing and were not able to easily track or keep a record of security vulnerabilities. The goal in partnering with FizLabs was to enable the app to be more easily utilized as it was using Apache Subversion (SVN), an open-source solution.

The Solution

We integrated their app with Git, in addition to their centralized control system SVN, so they could easily track edits and have increased efficiency as Git is a distributed version control system.

The Result

We were able to increase efficiency of continuous security monitoring and testing, increase the accuracy of vulnerability detection, and improve the stability of the app.
