This client was a large county, responsible for public recordkeeping and storing vital information and data, nearly completely on paper. Due to their size and nature of the data they were handling, the need for a modern, digital solution to store this data. We implemented Blockchain technology to efficiently and securely support becoming a more digital, connected, and secure organization. If this data isn't managed properly, there is enormous potential for loss of important personal identifiable information as well as important records. With Amazon Managed Blockchain, our client gained a modern and robust set of tools that allowed them to easily store and retrieve digital records.

The Business Need

Due to the size of the county, the amount of public records and data they were responsible for was massive. Most recordkeeping was done on paper and the client needed a modern solution to storing this data. The county needed a solution that effectively and securely managed data, while lowering the cost of operations and easing access.

The Solution

Blockchain technology implements a new opportunity and challenge to create a digitalized and data centered operation. We were excited to demonstrate how blockchain technology could allow the county to become more digital, connected, and secure. We utilized the pilot blockchain network using Amazon Managed Blockchain, to modernize the old paper-centric county and send them into the digital era. The introduction of Blockchain technology enabled the county to store and retrieve verifiable digital records which lessened the need for physical storage. This solution, using Blockchain technology, also provides citizens increased access to their records in a more timely manner.
